“DEVELOPING SPEED AND POWER”

Speed and power are bi-products of the proper execution of the fundamental concepts of timing, balance and coordination.  Master Jack Sera will cover the fundamental dynamics of these concepts to help produce quicker reflexes and greater power in your technique.  Don’t get ready, BE ready and in position.  Bring your questions and favorite lessons to this interactive course.

“TOOLS, TECHNIQUE & TARGETING”

Grand Master Jimmy H. Woo often told the class, “Not how hard but how right you hit someone.”  This idea applies to everything we do.  With over 30 years experience in Qi Gong and massage/physical therapy, Master Michael Rockwell will give insight into the numerous targets and tools to make your technique effective.

February 11, 2017

Chinatown Kung Fu San Soo will have its next seminar in Chinatown, Los Angeles on Saturday, February 11, 2017.

The primary target audience is security personnel, such as body guards and bouncers whose first function is to protect, clients, patrons and customers. When an individual’s behaviour becomes unacceptable, a minimum of force is both legally and ethically imperative, but that force (and accompanying tactics and strategies) needs to be effective in keeping the peace.

This seminar will provide you with numerous techniques of finger locks, wrist, and small joint manipulation to add to your security toolbox to maintain that peace.
In addition to tactics and strategies, techniques of verbal interaction will also be discussed. Often times verbal interaction can eliminate the need for a physical interaction to resolve a situation, and if not, can help set up the entry into seize, hold and control techniques more efficient and effective.

These seize and hold pain compliance techniques are also suitable for San Soo people who need to engage an adversary when circumstances require a minimal use of blunt force trauma.

Many of these techniques were taught to the U.S. Border Patrol Agents (under contract with the Department of Justice) in the San Diego Sector for 18 months from mid 1999 through 2000 at the Chula Vista Training facility.

Finger locks were also a part of the overall training that was provided to 1st Force Recon and 1st Recon Battalion on Camp Pendleton (1997-2000)

With Law Enforcement and Military personnel, these techniques can be utilized as part of their overall escalation of force policies and job descriptions.

So, whether you are in Security, a student of San Soo (or other martial art), or a member of Law Enforcement or the Military, you are welcome to attend this seminar.
